Once a month, I run a free group class where you can get a feel for how I teach and what’s on offer. We explore key areas like vowel and consonant sounds, word and sentence stress and intonation. We dive into connected speech, common sounds and common pitfalls. You’re welcome to join in or just listen and observe - no pressure. It’s a relaxed and friendly space to start making sense of pronunciation and see if the approach works for you.

Your Teacher
Hi! I’m Violet. I am a native English speaker and certified tutor specialising in advanced English and pronunciation/accent work. I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language with a CELTA and have six years of teaching experience in person and online. I combine my experience in teaching and theatre to work on building your skills and confidence in English communication, pronunciation and accents.
I have a first-class degree in languages from the University of Toronto. I have completed the UCL Summer Course in English Phonetics and also the Knight Thompson Speech Work: Actor's Accent Toolkit. I have also completed the Teach Pronunciation Course from Pronunciation Studio and I am a member of the IPA (International Phonetic Association).
I currently live in London, England.
I used the SSB (Standard Southern British) accent as a standard in my courses.
